What data we collect

RankForge processes data locally in your browser. When you visit an Etsy listing page, the extension reads publicly visible information from the page (title, tags, price, description) to calculate an SEO score and display competitor insights. This data is never sent to any external server.

Keyword search

When you search for keywords, the extension sends your query to Etsy's public autocomplete endpoint (etsy.com/search/suggest) directly from your browser. No third-party server is involved. Search queries are not stored.

Data storage

The extension stores the following data locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

• Your last viewed listing data (for display in the popup)
• Usage counters (number of AI generations used per month)
• User preferences (theme setting)

This data never leaves your browser and can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.

Permissions

• activeTab: To read listing data from the currently active Etsy tab when you click the extension icon.
• storage: To save your preferences and usage counters locally.
• Host permission (etsy.com): To inject the content script that extracts listing data and performs keyword searches on Etsy pages.

Third-party services

RankForge does not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Analytics

RankForge does not include any analytics, tracking, or telemetry code.
